Periodontal Therapy (Scaling and Root Planing)
Periodontal therapy is a non-surgical treatment designed to manage gum disease and protect the supporting structures of your teeth. When plaque and tartar accumulate below the gumline, they can lead to inflammation, bone loss, and eventual tooth loss if left untreated.
Scaling and root planing carefully removes these deposits from beneath the gums and smooths the root surfaces to support healing and reduce bacterial accumulation.
Treatment may be completed in one visit or divided into multiple appointments, depending on the extent of inflammation and bone involvement.
Periodontal therapy is not a one-time cure. Gum disease is a chronic condition that requires ongoing monitoring and maintenance. Long-term stability depends on consistent home care and regular periodontal maintenance visits. Our goal is to control inflammation, preserve natural teeth, and support long-term oral health.
